Curriculum Planning and Task Design Workshop
On Friday 7th June 2019, HEIA(SA) ran a Professional Development workshop on curriculum planning and task design. In order to cater for our country members we ran the day backing on to a long weekend. This proved to be a success as we had teachers attend from as far away as Pt Lincoln and various regional areas of the state.
Facilitated by HEIA(SA) President, Sarah Hockey, the aim of the day was to give teachers time to spend fine tuning their assessment tasks to ensure they both aligned with the Australian Curriculum and allowed for reliable and relevant assessment. Attendees spent valuable time reflecting on their own planning and assessment and then giving and receiving feedback from their peers in a round table format.
We were also able to hear from two experienced textiles teachers about some great things happening in their respective classrooms. Thank you to Susan Brandt from Brighton Secondary School and Margaret Henry from Grange Primary School for your informative and refreshing presentations.
